Do you measure up?

When I was a young woman I used my physical measurements as my ruler for success and fulfillment.

That was a disaster.

I’m 5’1”. No matter how many miles I rode on an exercise bike, in a wetsuit with the heat on 80, I was NEVER going to be a rail, nor get 7” taller. My “ruler” # was a set-up for total “failure”.

⭐️At 25, landing a job in our field may bring exhilaration.

⭐️At 35, with more life experience, maturity and possibly some kids, the measuring stick should be re-examined.

⭐️At 45, if we haven’t ever done this examination, we may FEEL that we “never measure up” and have NO IDEA why.

⭐️Let’s assume at 50 we have reached a high level of “success”. But realize we have zero connection to our field, zero time for our family, and zero time for exercise.

⭐️By Miid-50’s if we haven’t asked ourselves what we want, how are we going to propel into a meaningful retirement that has us energized, not bereft at losing our “work identity”?

We ask ourselves TODAY:

1. What ARE my measures of success, happiness and fulfillment?

2. How far away am I from hitting those measures?

3. What’s stopping me?
