New Year, New Measures

Happy New Year!! This time of year is

a natural time to reflect on what truly defines success and fulfillment in our lives.

When I was younger, I mistakenly believed my physical measurements were the key indicators of my happiness and achievement. At 5'1", I realized no amount of exercise could change my stature—a setup for inevitable disappointment.

At 25, landing a job in our chosen field is exhilarating. It feels like the beginning of a promising journey. At 35, with more life experience and perhaps having a family, it’s essential to reassess our benchmarks for success.

By 45, if we haven’t reevaluated, we might feel like we’re consistently falling short without understanding why. At 50, achieving a high level of success might seem rewarding on paper, but it may come at the cost of personal connections and self-care.

✨ As we enter our mid-50s, the pivotal question is whether we've asked ourselves what truly matters. Have we prepared for a retirement that leaves us feeling invigorated and with a renewed sense of purpose, rather than a loss of work identity?

As we embark on this New Year, let's ask ourselves:

  1. What truly defines success, happiness, and fulfillment for me?

  2. How close am I to achieving those ideals?

  3. What barriers are standing in my way?

Starting the year with these reflections in mind sets the stage for a meaningful transformation, aligned with what genuinely matters.
